First Mate

Here is my latest LO. I used All Hands on Deck by Melissa Bennett. This is a picture of my mom and dad. They took us on a cruise last summer and we had a blast! I hope someday to get the scrapbook done for them as a thank you! I made this page for the Tuesday Template Challenge at Scrap Matters. The template is by Linz! It is great!

My Marathon...

OK, I am not a runner, but I had to post this page that I did yesterday. It seriously took me about 4 hours (almost a marathon!) to finish it and I even used a template! There are a ton of layers in this one and I spent a lot of time on the drop shadows. I am trying to make a page better in the details. I submitted it to the Satuday Special Challenge at Scrap Matters. The challenge was to make a 2 page loyout. This was one event that definately needed 2 pages (if not more) to get in all the fun pictures we had!

The Spirit of Christmas

***PLease leave me a comment if you could not get it to work! I have had a few emails. I have uploaded the image again so click the link at the bottom if you have troubles. Thanks for stopping by!***
This weekend I sat down with my family and watched The Polar Express. I must admit that I get a little tear-eyed at the end of that movie, it just fills me with the spirit of Christmas and what this season is all about. Santa inspired this little word art that I hope you can all get some use out of this Holiday Season. Merry Christmas!

((OPINION)) POLL

I NEED a NEW Look!
So, I am not digging the look of my blog anymore! So here is the question. Should I start going seasonal, or find another great kit I love and just re-do it? Keep in mind I already have 2 blogs that I keep seasonal. Vote on my poll!

A good Hybrid Project

I posted these on my family blog and thought I would post them here too! So, if you frequent both of them, please forgive the repeat!

So last week we had a little party for our primary class. I wanted to give them something and have them do a craft. I solved both problems with this great hybrid project. I made one for each of them. I did the girls with a little embellishment, but didn't want to go overboard on the boys. Here is some examples:

If you want to make one yourself, this is what I did. I got some wood from the wood connection and designed an image in PS and had them printed at costco. ( I put 6 on a page 12X18 for $3) Then we cut them out and had the kids modge-podge them on and then mosgepodged over the picture. After they dried I stapled a ribbon to the top and tied a bow over the staple so you couldn't see it. Viola! Way cute sign for anybody!

Neglected

Well, I tried to work form home this week, which definitely has its benefits. Carter is not used to be neglected. He is usually the center of attention at all times. While I was working he found a spool of ribbon (actually 2) that I had bought at the dollar store for some presents. He entertained himself for hours with that ribbon and we eventually cut it off him and his trucks! So I made a LO using a new kit from KandyKane Creations called Funk-e. Check it out here.

Saturday Special Challenge

I tried a new technique I learned at Scrap Matters for the Saturday Special Challenge. Check it out here. This is the LO I submitted for the challenge. I love how the photo turned out, bot so hot on the LO, but it works. I am just loving learning all this new stuff from the girls at ScrapMatters! I am going to work on some hybrid cards this week. I have a card exchange on Thursday and I want to WOW them with a hybrid card. Wish me luck!

I love Templates

So I participated in the Tuesday Template Challenge at where else...Scrap Matters!! This is the LO I came up with. The best part is that is took me longer to post it to all the gallery's/forums then it took for me to finish the layout. What do you think?

What have I been doing?

Well, I am still trying to do the Card Challenge at Scrap Matters. This is what I have done most recently:
This is my Week 4 Card. The idea is to print it out and then print out the squares and the tree again and really make it pop! I used tis the season by Rebecca Lynn for this card.

I Made this card for the Week 5 challenge. ( I used it in my primary lesson today. I had each kis pick someone that served them and write them a note. They were a BIG hit!)

Here it is printed out. When I make them again I will layer it! I used the kit Stella, by SuzieBell Designs: found at Scrap MAtters!!!

Then from this card I made this invitation for our class party. easy huh! I used School Rules from Kay Miller

Another Challenge

OK, so Scrapmatters is having a card challenge. You get a template for a card every week and then you make a hybrid card with it. At the end of the challenge we will have a great set of cards to keep or giveaway. Here is my first card. I used Kay Millers Cute as a Bug kit and made the glass jar myself!! (yeah me!) I also changed one of her elements to get it to say Heard you caught a bug. this would be a great get well card for anyone who is sick. Again, I would love to give this away, but copyright! Sad :( Hope it gives you some ides! enjoy!

Priorities

If you are still looking at this blog let me say, I love you! I am still here and digi-scrapping like crazy, just not for myself. I have also found myself adjusting my priorities and designing took a back burner for a while. It was my son's birthday and our anniversary. I am hoping to get back to designing soon as well as just getting some of my scrapbook pages done. I made this recipe card for a wedding I am going to this week. I am making a cookie basket with a rolling pin, cookie sheet, cookie cutter and this recipe card. I thought I would also throw in some cream of tarter since that is not a common ingredient to have. I wish I could give this away to you for your collection, but it would infringe on the TOU of the kit. I love this kit by SuzieBelle* Designs, it is called Stella. i recently did the QP exchange with this kit. I have used it several times since then. I would recommend that you jot down this recipe, this is from my Grandma. I have never been able to make them as good as her, but they are still super yummy. Enjoy!

Distracted

It feels like forever since I have posted! I have to admit that the Olympics have kept me preoccupied so I have not had much time for my digiscrap addiction! Luckily I made this template a while ago with the intention to post it and never got around to it. I am still working on my newest kit, but that too has been put on the back burner for a while. I am off work next week, so that should give me time to work on it. I am really excited to see how it turns out.

I am going to try to enter my first QP exchange at scrapmatters.com. They have the cutest kit for it called Stella. Check it out here. I made this template from the page I made for the exchange. Here is my QP as an idea of what you can do with the template with any kit. I LOVE templates!!

New Kit

Well, As you all know I got "kicked out" of the designing challenge at funky playground designs. The challenge was to design something "trendy". I chose my colors and patterns all from what made me happy. Apparently it was not "trendy" enough. Good learning experience though, right? Well, I went to Target on Saturday and found TONS of notebooks, bags even bedding with the same color scheme and patterns that I had chosen for my kit. I am now feeling "trendy" again. After all, who is more trendy that Target?

I now have the confidence to make another kit. Here is a little sneak preview. PLEASE tell me what you think and let me know if you have any requests that make a kit "scrapable."

OH, do you think that I would leave you empty handed today! Think again! For a VERY limited time I will open my link to the kit I made for FPD. It is zipped an PW protected. The password is... trendy! Please leave some love, it make me feel better about myself :) (another issue for another day hehehe)

Spirit of the Games

If you are like me you have been glued to your TV the last several nights from 7 to 11 pm. I love what the Olympics are all about! I love cheering for the under-dog, for the USA, for any country that wins my heart! My 2 year old really loved the synchronized diving the last couple of nights. He said "Wow, mom, that's AMAZING!" It sure is! Then he proceeded to spin around the family room showing me how to do it. So cute!

Where were you when the Olympics were in Salt Lake City, 2002? What an exciting time for my home town! I don't think I will ever forget it, and my love for the games goes on!

To celebrate I put together this little template. I don't think I have any use for it yet, unless I take a picture of us watching the games or my son "diving" off the couch... perfect 10! IF you are so lucky to be in Beijing, maybe it will be of use to you. Keep watching...the spirit of the games! Please share any pics you have of the Olympics either 2008 or before. I would especially love to see any of 2002!!!! If you like it, please let me know!

I have been noticing what has been the most popular and these templates are by far more popular than the QP I put up so I decided to make another one. I hope you like it. If you have any ideas of other templates, please let me know!

Sisters Quick Page

I have been home miserable for 2 days now with a horrible tooth ache. I can almost feel a root canal coming my way, but I am avoiding it at all costs as my insurance wont pay for it. We are trying some antibiotics for a few days, but so far, not good.

Anyhow, my misfortune, is your fortune as I have finaly found time to make a QP with my sisters kit to share with all of you. I used my template that I posted first, so I kind of cheated, (I think the medication affects my creativity) but I hope it helps you get some scrapping done this weekend! I love quick pages to scrap those odd pictures that I don't really know what to do with.
Please leave me a comment if you like what I do, or even f you don't and have some suggestions!

Also, I noticed there are a lot of friends over in Germany that check out my blog and have downloaded some of my stuff. I would love to make a template for you in German. Let me know if you have any suggestions as to what you would like! Dank!

Memory Motto's - Sisters

Well, I did not make it to the next round on FPD Teacher's Pet contest. No real surprise. I am glad I tried it. Who knows how long it would have taken me to try to design a kit on my own without it. I look forward to trying to do it again, and sharing with all of you!

The splash template was a big hit, so I thought I would make another one that could go with the kit that I made, Sisters. I hope you have as great of a sister as I do, and if not, I hope you have great friends in your life that are like your sisters. :) I am working getting some more freebies done for you all. Here is one to keep you scrappin!

I'm a Teachers Pet

I might be crazy! the great designers of Funkyplaygrounddesigns.com are doing a month long search for a new designer and along the way we get to learn new things. When I heard what the first challenge was I almost dropped out. We all made a mini kit to be given away FREE if you subscribe to their newsletter. Run over there and register to get the password to get all the great kits. Trust me, there are some amazing kits! Here is a preview of what I came up with.
They color combo just came to me immediately. then I went for a sisters/friends theme. It was way time consuming, but I learned A LOT along the way. I am way proud of it. I will start work on a QP with it and see what I can come up with.
Don't forget to register to get the password. I am not telling!

Memory Motto's

Time to introduce another segment of my new blog: Memory Motto's. These fun templates can be made using any word or font. They are just right to complete a fun page of your summer excitement!

(Template is clickable, download using 4shared.)

Here is an example of what you can do with this template. I used the Sandcastle kit from nitwitcollections.com (my fave!)

I know the page is cute, by what about those boys!

Here is your comment assignment for today. Please, please, please let me know if you would rather have templates in PSD or PNG format. I can save them either way. This is in PSD format. TTFN!

Memories in Minutes

If you are reading this then you have probably guessed what name won the blog poll on. I am glad the majority of you found this name fitting as it was one of my favorites. Plus I thought of some fun word play we could have with different things I will post. the first post I would like to do is a freebie template. For those of you who did not get this template last time, here it is again. My template posts will be named Memories in Minutes because they literally take minutes to finish a page!! This one is saved in psd format, but I will work on getting getting it in png format as well. I was anxious to start this blog and be on my way to creating some great stuff. I still have a lot to figure out, so please be patient. Please leave a comment if you would like, it makes me happy to read what you said! Keep checking back, I will post more as I get time to work on some more freebies!!

Here is a layout that my digi-friend and "CT" member made using this template. She used the kit Summer Lovin' by GG digital Designs. It only took minutes to put this page together. enjoy!
